It doesn't matter how many times I tell people that Hunting is dangerous. They never listen. If you go and try to hunt, one of two things will probably happen. One, you will get attacked by a vampire and die. Two, you will get caught by law enforcement for being suspicious and carrying weapons.
There are Rules to hunting. These rules are important, and if anyone should ever go hunting these rules should always be at the top of their mind.
1.) No people should ever be put in danger by your actions. It doesn't matter how many lives you've saved. if a single person is hurt by your bad judgment, you should hang up your stake immediately. You're done.
2.) Do not break the law to catch a vampire unless it is completely and absolutely necessary. Don't trespass, don't vandalize, don't speed, don't do anything like that. It attracts attention. It is dangerous.
3.) Don't fight a vampire in public. See above; it attracts unnecessary attention. Also, fighting in public view can lead to people being hurt. See Rule 1.
4.) Vampires are not good. They are not sexy. They are not charming. They are not good-at-heart and you cannot make one into a good guy. This rule gets forgotten a lot by newer hunters, who die at the hand of a vampire with a kind demeanor and a good poker face.
5.) Only attack after you are certain your prey is a vampire. If there is the slightest doubt, discontinue the hunt.
6.) Dispose of the vampire completely. No dumpsters, no trash bags. Set it on fire, turn it to ash.
7.) No guns. Guns do nothing to a vampire. So learn to fight with a sword or dagger or other blade before you even think of trying to hunt a vampire.
8.) Keep your equipment in top shape. Shoddy equipment leads to death.
9.) If things go bad, run. And they do, often. Take no chances. Get good at running.
10.) Never let your guard down. At least, not until the sun is up.
That's all I can think of now. If I think of more, I'll post them.

An Introduction
I do not know if it is proper for me to present this blog. I believe that what I do is of grave importance to all mankind. People do not know the things that walk the streets at night, like lions on the prowl. They do not understand the importance of protection. They do not, could not, understand the things I do, and likely never will.
When I was 16, I was walking home from a party at a friend's house. I felt something was following me, but I shrugged the feeling off. I should not have. It came for me very quickly. it wrapped its arms around my head and pulled me toward the ground. before I knew it, it had dug its fangs into my neck and began to drink my blood.
I don't remember why I had a hunting knife in my pocket. I pulled it, though, and with all my strength I stabbed back toward my shoulder. The creature was likely a fledgling and did not expect resistance, nor the blade digging deep into its skull. It detached itself from my neck and hit the ground. I tried to get up, but my legs were weak. I turned to find, to my horror, that the creature was still alive, trying to pry the knife out of the hole in its temple. Blood was pouring out and yet the creature resisted. I grabbed the knife and twisted it in the creature's head, and it let out a scream.
"Get away from it," I heard a man's voice say from behind me. I turned and saw a man in dark clothing striding towards me with a sharp piece of wood in one hand and a hammer in the other. I obeyed and moved away from the creature. The man slammed the sharp wood into the thing's chest before pounding on the end with the hammer. The creature quickly silenced. Without missing a beat, the man pulled out a can of lighter fluid and a lighter and set the thing ablaze.
I was never the same.
